Bodywork

Bodywork: Otter has worked as a qualified Thai massage therapist for the last five years and runs a massage clinic in Brussels, Belgium called Safer Healing. The clinic is run as a body-positive, safer space and is focused on the LGBTQIA+ communities of the area and other groups that face body oppressions and need more safety in their bodywork. Through her clinic, Otter teaches body-positive, compassionate and consent-informed courses of Thai massage in the style of Pi Jem, her friend and mentor.

In 2017, Otter co-founded the Radical Bodywork Network to open conversations about making massage more inclusive and a political tool of change.

Trans-competency training: Otter offers training sessions in trans-competency for bodyworkers, holistic therapists and other interested groups to deepen understanding of the needs of trans and non-binary clients and to help facilitate the creation of safer and better-informed spaces. Sessions are available in person and online, please contact Otter to arrange a session.

Networking: She also co-founded the Radical Bodywork Network to open conversations about making massage more inclusive and a political tool of change.

“The most important thing for me in my practise is safety and comfort. Without the safety to relax and to build trust in a session, I don’t believe that healing can be anywhere near as effective.”
